Storage Tip 5 – Don’t Put Heavy Boxes On The Sofa Or Mattresses
Your sofa and mattresses, whilst designed to take the weight of the average adult for long periods of time, are not designed to withstand a large stationary object for long periods of time.
You can form a permanent dent in the cushion or mattress if a heavy object is left in one place for a long period of time. This can seriously affect the comfort level you receive from the stored item when it is removed from storage. Who really wants a sofa with a large square dent, or a mattress with a dipped circle in the middle? Better to not place the heavy items on your soft furnishings at all!
Instead place the heavy boxes and objects on the floor to provide a stable base for your storage area.
